Making Claims For Accidents at Work

You maybe entitled to make a claim for a payout after an accident at work.

Having an accident at work is not unusual, and if you have been injured at work you could be entitled to a payout from your employer.

You do not have to work in a physically demanding job to suffer an occupational injury. While perhaps more physically demanding jobs come with a higher risk of injury, service based jobs are not without their own risks.

Our workers compensation solicitors can offer advice and a claims assessment.

Perhaps you work in an office and tripped over cabling trailing on the floor, or maybe you worked in a restaurant and slipped on food spilled on the floor. If you have been injured because your employer failed to protect your safety, you could be entitled to a compensation payout.

Employers have a duty of care to protect workers from harm, if they have failed in their duty we can help you claim compensation.

Every worker is at risk of having an accident at work. However through the use of common sense and appropriate care and safety, these risk can be minimised. Health and safety regulations have improved over the years and working conditions are now better than they have ever been before.

Making a claim for an injury at work.

Employers are required by law to keep a record of every accident that occurs on their premises. If you have had an accident at work, follow it up by ensuring that it has been logged in the accident book. All serious accidents are required to be reported to the Health and Safety Executive. This is in your favour as it means if any claim needs to be made there is a further written record to support your claim.

Can I continue to work for my employer after a claim?

Many employees who have a good relationship with their employer may find it difficult to make a claim against them. However, every employer should have liability insurance to cover themselves in the event of a workplace accident. It is against this policy that any claim would be made, so the employer would not personally be put into financial difficulty by making a payment for compensation.
