Employment tribunal awards an undisclosed payout to a banker dismissed from his job.
Ex Morgan Stanley banker Benjamin Price is to receive compensation for unfair dismissal.
Mr Price worked at the investment bank for 14 years and had a salary of £533,000 when he was head hunted by rival firm Citibank and offered a salary of £670,000.
He notified his employer of Citibank's offer, and it was verbally agreed that the £136,000 salary increase would be matched if he remained at the bank. On that basis he agreed to stay.
However in spite of the agreement his salary was not increased, in fact it was reduced at a later date to £518,000. He complained about the decision but was informed there wasn't enough money available to pay him more.
