Claim case example:

Mr B was injured whilst working in a bar in summer 2012.

You could be entitled to compensation if you have been hurt because your employer failed to keep you safe from harm.

He and two colleagues had been instructed to close the bar at the end of the day. In order to do this, he was required to return all extra glasses used during the day to a high shelf in the bar's store room.

The bar had just one step ladder which had missing rubber feet. Unfortunately for Mr B there was no way to secure the ladder, and as he climbed to the top he fell. He landed on his back on the concrete floor fracturing vertebrae in his spine.

After his fall Mr B contacted our work injury team to find out if he could make a claim against his employer.

After a review of his case and subsequent investigation into his accident, we were able to show that he had been given no training on how to use a ladder at work, no manual handling training and no training on how to carry items whilst using a ladder.

Mr B's claim was recently settled, he received a £7,000 payout thanks to our team.
