Imperium Law personal injury solicitors recently won compensation for a driver who suffered a neck injury after a road traffic accident involving his car and a lorry.
The driver contacted one of our specialist solicitors to get help claiming compensation. The claimant needed Imperium’s professional help when the HGV driver tried to make out that even though he had indeed hit the car, the accident was not his fault. The HGV driver insinuated that this resembled a ‘crash for cash’ claim.

The driver had been travelling on a main road when he stopped at temporary traffic lights, which had turned from amber to red at road works. Without warning, the HGV vehicle which was travelling behind collided with the back of the driver’s stationary car.
After the collision, the car driver immediately felt pain in his neck, and fearing a serious injury the emergency services were called to the scene of the accident. He was cut out of his vehicle and taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Our client believed the HGV driver was responsible for the accident, however, the HGV driver denied the claim. The HGV driver advised it was the car driver in front who had purposefully caused the accident, he claimed the car driver had slammed on his brakes unnecessarily as the lights had not been changing.

The car driver was claiming personal injury and other losses arising out of the accident. As the case could not be agreed and a settlement could not be reached, the case proceeded to trial.
